FADE IN: AN OLD WEATHERED MAP - TEXT OVERLAY READS...

Before Arthur, there was a time when monsters, gods, and mortals walked the same plain.

Before the great continental divide, there lived a united world called PANGEA.

This magical land was home to the NINE great tribes. Voltam, Merik, Korin, Sepya, Krendal, Chulen, Centry, Konger and Brath Del. Peace and Harmony ruled over the land Our story takes place at the bottom of the world. BRATH DEL.

EXT. FOREST - BRATH DEL - PANGEA

We fly along with a massive black crow only feet off the ocean surface.

Long sheets of grey slate whip underneath us. We drift through clusters of tall evergreens and arrive at the base of an imposing waterfall.

Carried by the air current the radiant black bird leans back and swoops up the towering rock face, WOOSH!

Halfway up the cliff sits a castle as old as time itself.

EXT. CASTLE OF KNOWLEDGE - FALL

The elegant fortress is setback inside of a massive cave at the top of the waterfall. The castle sits on an island surrounded by thunderous whitewater.

Its cold grey stones spiral into the air. The East and West drawbridge offer the only safe passage to the castle and both are currently raised.

The crow attempts to perch on one of the castle towers. ZAP! It's instantly repelled by a magical force-field. The massive black bird streaks away, cawing.

Across from the castle, on the East side of the rushing water, there is a small stone inlet. A slender man looking to be in his fifties sits there, lotus style.

His eyes are closed but they pulsate as if he's dreaming. He is the shamanistic wizard known as MERLIN.

He wears a ragged dark blue robe. Streaks of black and yellow warpaint are smeared across his face. Strands of brown hair frame his short trimmed beard. A glimpse from his third eye flashes.

FLASH

A BARBARIAN battles with a massive red dragon. He fights the beast with a single spear.

FLASH

A six-year-old barbarian girl runs through a burning forest screaming in terror.

FLASH

The same little girl sits in a small boat floating down river. She weeps. The forest behind her is engulfed in flames.

FLASH - END

Merlin pours a stream of white salt from his hand onto the flat rock before him, then another and another. Each line is purposeful and precise.

Looking at him from above we can see he is sitting at the center of a bleached white mandala.

Four wooden staffs have been planted into the earth at the circle's edge. Each one is inscribed with a symbol for North, South, East, and West. A small chamber sits atop each staff. Each chamber is filled with a primal element - Earth, Water, Fire, and Air.

The wizard takes a large grey DRAGON EGG from an old leather pouch and chants in an ancient tongue...

MERLIN

Merlin holds the egg with both hands, it sizzles and crackles. Waves of blue energy pulsate from its center. THUMP THUMP, THUMP THUMP.

Amplified glowing strands of electricity surround the wizard.
